You don’t have to be young in order to enjoy Australia. Adventure travel in this country is known as one of the best experiences in the world. The Australians themselves are famous for their love of the outdoors and sporting activities and this includes adventure sports. It is obvious that their love of adventure comes from the fact they are situated in spectacular natural surroundings. The landscape of this great country is rugged and can be used for many categories of adventure sports.
If you are interested in adventure then you will want to visit Australia. If you are suitably fit you can take advantage of many different adventure sports that will get your adrenalin rushing. Best of all you will have the spectacular Australian outdoors as the backdrop to your adventure. If you want excitement then consider a bungy jump while in Cairns of North Queensland. If you like the pump of adrenalin but prefer to be more earthbound you can opt for white water rafting. You have a choice of the Franklin River in Tasmania or the Blue Mountain Canyons in New South Wales. If you are going to take in New South Wales and falling out of a plane is your thing then Sydney provides world class skydiving amenities.
Going back to Roman times, risks have been shared during times of tragedy and unforeseen circumstances, such as earthquakes, floods and the like. The first formal and recorded insurance company, Lloyd’s of London, was formed in 1769 and their founding principal remains intact today – to gather the premiums of clients as a pool of resources in order to return to clients who experience unexpected and unforeseen but covered events. So, that is the secret really, plan for the unexpected and unforeseen and make sure you’re covered, especially when you’re travelling. Whether your trip is a quick one or a round the world cruise, there are many good reasons for travel insurance. Here are just 7 things you should do before you buy your travel insurance:
Whatever you do, please explore the market and educate yourself with all the terms and terminologies of the travel insurance cover that will help you to avail the best travel insurance.
Certainly check what is included in your travel insurance policy but most importantly, check what is EXCLUDED from your travel insurance policy.

1) Buy it used. Well, not really used: more like discounted (or unused actually). Sometimes, people can put their vacation opportunities up at real discounts. Did you know that there are all sorts of people out there who own time shares but can’t use them for various reasons? Maybe the season isn’t right, or they can’t seem to get the flight that they need. Ebay has a thriving market for timeshare opportunities. A lot of the listings are permanent (e.g. people looking for others to buy their times shares out completely), but sometimes people are just looking to monetize a weeks worth of timeshare that they can’t seem to use themselves. Their loss can be your opportunity. Ebay is an auction, and the highest price wins usually.
2) Compare everything. Guess what? Expedia and Orbitz seem like they are juggernauts of internet travel and they control a lot of the market. BUT, they don’t have every vendor available. A lot of the discount airlines like SouthWest and JetBlue don’t use either of these massive companies and you can only get their deals by going directly to their website. Don’t’ tell anyone, but from what we’ve heard JetBlue is supposed to have really nice seats and monitors on new planes with really good prices. We haven’t used JetBlue ourselves yet, but it’s supposed be really good (especially at delivering good value on Northeast to Florida routes). That tip alone could save you some bucks while getting you a really nice flight.
3) The first 2 points are perfectly valid in any trip planning but almost worthless when you consider that you might have to shell out a lot more bucks for destinations abroad. There is a beautiful beach state located not too far from anyone East of the Mississippi. That’s right. Florida. Florida is back and it’s beaches are still fantastic. Florida is still beautiful. There has been a lot of development of Florida during the last 50 years, but Florida is still a massive state with plenty of undiscovered beaches. The state of Florida can be great if you know where to look. It’s pretty nice. Trust us….the undiscovered spots of Florida can really be something else. However, they are becoming more and more difficult to find as thousands of people move to Florida every month.
The South East Asian region of the world – especially Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos – has become increasingly popular as a destination for those travelers seeking a more adventurous holiday than can be had merely sipping fruity, ice-cold drinks at your typical beach resort. However, an adventurous trip to these developing countries raises many questions and one of the first is what route to take, which I will try to answer in this article.
Most people with enough time would like to get a taste for all four that I’ve mentioned earlier, so I’ll concentrate on a route that includes all of them. It would take about three months if you spent a few days at each stop. Keep in mind that there certainly are options available that would allow you to skip countries or even shorten the trip to fit into a more constrained timeline, but this should give you a good starting point for further research.
As far as getting around, travel by public bus, train, and boat is readily available and often full of adventure after all, traveling with a busload of chickens or the occasional box of frogs just adds to the fun, right? However, those looking for a little more comfort will usually be able to find more upscale options.
How far would you go to get the ultimate rush, and how much are you willing to pay? The extreme adventure travel market is growing.
Experiencing nature’s most demanding landscapes can reveal exactly who you are, testing your physical, psychological and maybe even spiritual selves. Extreme adventures cover a breadth of activities ranging from mildly demanding to profoundly challenging. These adventures can take you from the world’s highest peaks to its most remote terrains, from the polar ice caps to the sun-bleached deserts of Africa and all points in between.
Brave the planet’s harshest environments, come face to face with its most exotic wildlife and blaze paths where humans rarely venture. Return from your journey a different person from when you embarked into the power of nature and your ability to overcome it.
In man versus machine, you can experience the rush of speed from the driver’s seat of a Formula One racer to the cockpit of a supersonic fighter jet. Go to the edge of the earth visiting the North or South poles. Reach the South Pole on skis or find the polar bear in its Arctic habitat on rugged polar adventures. Land within 50 feet of the emperor penguin nesting areas in Antarctica to see as many as 3,000 Emperor Penguin chicks. Take an extreme safari. See Africa’s wildlife by canoe, on foot, on camelback or even from a helicopter. Reach Mount Everest Base Camp or the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, two of the world’s most challenging mountain treks. Dive into the waters off Belize for up-close encounters with its extraordinary sea life, including the elusive whale shark. Explore the rainforests via ATV, riverboat or by foot. Track the elusive puma and jaguars. Experience life in the unforgiving desert following the path of Lawrence of Arabia in Jordan or exploring Egypt’s White Desert.
One thing that I have in common with a lot of my close friends is they love to travel. Travel opens the world up for new possibilities. It is part of the adventurous spirit that we all have. I have traveled to Mexico several times by myself and with friends and family. I have jumped on a plane for a two day trip to Japan to meet potential business partners. My wife and I have taken our kids to New York City for a winter trip, Cancun for a party trip, England and Scotland for an adventure trip, and Hawaii for a family trip. Despite the cost and despite what other things I have had in my life, my travels are what have given me the most juice and excitement.
I just received a phone call yesterday from a friend of mine who was tired of the working rat race. He traded in his jeep for a van and got himself a Western Hemisphere map. Currently he is in Ensenada, surfing the waves and meeting new friends. His plan is to travel from Mexico, through Central and South America and make a final stop in Argentina or Brazil. He has been on this trip for more than a month and he is only made it to Ensenada. He has a long way to go on his journey, but he doesn’t have any hurry. He has volunteered for a week at an orphanage and he is going to take some Spanish classes these coming weeks. It is an adventure that most people dream about but never do.
Another friend of mine, was laid off from his job a few months ago, and could not find another job. Instead of feeling sorry for himself and moping around the house, he took a three month trip to Eastern Europe. He visited historic sites, and made it as far as Turkey. He had taken similar trips to Australia, New Zealand, and Western Europe in the past. Now he is back in Seattle, working again and probably planning his next big trip.
